nbnk, short for “nanabi no kitsune”, sings and plays with keyboards, records songs, creates electronic soundscapes.
Behind nbnk stands Emmanuel Donnet. Based in Brussels, he has been making music since childhood.
Next to this personal project, Emmanuel sings and tours with a professional a cappella close harmony quartet, O!Boy.
why nbnk?
“nanabi no kitsune” (七尾の狐, japanese) means “seven-tailed fox”. The name is a variation of “kyubi no kitsune” (九尾の狐, nine-tailed fox), a character from the Japanese folklore. This name expresses Emmanuel’s fascination for the Japanese culture as well as his affection for the red animal.
