I am based in Brussels. I sing and play wherever you invite me. Preferably if the place is reachable in a sustainable way.
what do you do?
I use musical dimensions—rhythm, melody, harmony, texture—as pathways, guiding listeners inward through states of awareness—emotional, human, and beyond the self.
Next to this personal project, I sing and tour with a professional a cappella close harmony quartet, O!Boy and in various vocal improvisation groups.
who are you?
I am Emmanuel Donnet, human being, singer, musician, psychologist, therapist, curious explorer of consciousness. I am also a son, father, brother, friend to many. All, possibly.
I have been making music, singing and playing keyboards since childhood.
why nbnk?
“nanabi no kitsune” (七尾の狐, japanese) means “seven-tailed fox”. The name is a variation of “kyubi no kitsune” (九尾の狐, nine-tailed fox), a character from the Japanese folklore. This name expresses my fascination for the invisible world, the Japanese culture as well as my affection for the red animal.
“nbnk” is just the short—and easier to remember—version of the full name, based on the first letter of each of the japanese words/characters.
